Community Ambassadors

Ambassadors are the people who grow the WeThePeople community.

Ambassadors are not administrators. They are the reason a new member finds the right group, the right event, or the right person to ask. They welcome, they introduce, and they point the way, so that nobody has to work out a community on their own.

A community by the people, for the people.

The founder lays the structure. Ambassadors carry it forward.

Zones and Chapters: how WeThePeople is organised locally.

WeThePeople is grouped into four Zones, each covering a region of India. Inside a Zone, members meet in Chapters, which are local groups based in a city or on a campus. A Zone tells you where to look. A Chapter is where you turn up, meet people, and get to know them.

Chapters are not declared from the top down.

A Chapter forms at the city or campus level as membership grows there and members ask for one. It starts with the people who are already in the room.

This map will keep expanding. If your city or campus is not on it yet, that is where the next Chapter can begin.

What Ambassadors do.

Being an Ambassador is a set of practical, everyday jobs. Here are the seven that matter most.

  • Grow the right mix of members

    Bring in people across career stages, genders, and types of organization in your city, chapter, or zone. A bigger headcount alone does not make a stronger community.

  • Moderate WhatsApp groups

    Look after the groups made for your city, chapter, or specialization as they grow. Keep conversations useful, welcoming, and on topic.

  • Plan and run events

    Come up with virtual and in-person events for your city, chapter, or zone, and see each one through from the first idea to the day itself.

  • Build a College Ambassador presence

    Represent WeThePeople at your own undergraduate or postgraduate institution. That covers academic work such as mentorship and guest sessions, and administrative work such as coordinating with faculty and onboarding student chapters.

  • Pass on jobs and connections

    Share job openings and industry introductions with members in your network, so opportunities reach people who would not otherwise hear about them.

  • Carry member voice back

    Share what members are feeling and asking for with the wider Ambassador network and leadership, so the direction of the community reflects the people in it.

  • Work as a regional group

    Organize with the other Ambassadors in your region, set your own rhythm of meetings, and keep things moving without needing the founder involved.

What Ambassadors receive.

    A private place for Ambassadors to talk, share what is working, and plan together.

  • Career advice from a Passport Holder you choose

    Pick a Passport Holder to advise you on your career. Access is subject to their availability.

  • Priority visibility

    Get priority when it comes to showing your own work and expertise to the wider WeThePeople community.

  • Early access to jobs

    Get early or first access to job opportunities that come through the network.

  • A badge you can share

    Add your Ambassador designation to LinkedIn and your other professional profiles.

Duties and benefits belong together. You give your time and care, and the community gives you standing and support in return.

Becoming an Ambassador is your choice.

It is not an obligation, and nothing holds a member to it. It is a platform you are part of because you want to be.
